Welcome to Spring Hill: Day 2

Gathering the supplies for our trip...
x Kayaks
x Life vests
x Sandwiches
x Paddles

Crossing a troll bridge in the forest...

Today was the kayaking trip on Weeki Wachee Springs. It took us about two hours to paddle 2.5 miles, including a few breaks along the way. Saige got to pet a manatee! When we stopped for lunch we watched a few near death experiences as guys swung from trees like primates and dove into the shallow waters below.

The kayaks ready to be launched...Happy Memorial Day!

Gone for a quick swing after the paddle. Oh my, this IS quite high...

Welcome to Spring Hill

Oh no! Not the sky way! Look at that thing! It's huge! Too bad we didn't know we had bad directions anyways...
Look at the coys! I love coy ponds! Yay!
See...these heights I don't mind. Great view from the Spring Hill Lighthouse.
Hey! A waterfall! I guess I was in need of a shower...
Now let's stop and get some refreshments at the Tiki Bar. Virgin Colada please!

In case you were wondering...

Who is Barthalemue?

Where did he come from?

Where is he going?

Here are some simple answers:

  • Barthalemue Tut was given to me as a gift on May 16th, 2008, and he was named the following evening.
  • He was part of an early birthday gift; two months early to be exact.
  • He is a wee little garden gnome, just as the packaging said :)
  • I was inspired to have him accompany me on my travels this summer, therefore, he will be joining me on my many adventures.
  • He is a traveling gnome, not to be confused with the ever popular roaming gnome. (Hopefully, this clarification will prevent any lawsuits herein.)
