Seattle: Day 7

I walked with Becki to work again today.
5 miles. A very refreshing way to start the day.

Met up with Caitie and planned to head to Ballard.
Got on the 70 to the University District.
Transferred onto the 75.
Right bus.
Erm...wrong direction.

Took about, oh, let's say an hour or so longer than planned.
It was the scenic route, ok?

After our slight detour we arrived at Cupcake Royale.
Sitting by the window on a lovely day.

With so many flavors to choose from we decided to get two and split 'em.
Carrot cake and Lavender.

The Lavender is ranked in the top 10 cupcakes nation wide.
Definitely Blue Ribbon worthy!

We wandered around looking in the shops for a bit.
Did I mention I ordered the "Kate" to go?

We went into Archie McPhee's.
movie:Archie McPhees
A store unlike any other.
Silly nicknacks and other party/gift/home goods supplies.

We explored Ballard a little longer.
Leslie picked us up.
And suddenly an art car was right in front of us!
It actually rang!

Their plate read: PHONES

For dinner Lelslie and I met up with Becki and Bob at Hiroshi's.
Sushi and jazz night.
Seaweed salad, miso soup, and salmon sushi.
Mmmm...

Afterwards we all walked down towards the neighborhood Pétanque court.
It's a game played by the French.
Very similar to Bocce ball.
In case you aren't familiar with either,
like myself, then here are some answers.
The boule (right) is thrown towards the cochonnet (left).

For the final event of the night Leslie and I met up with
some other friends of hers at a place called Cafe Press for dessert.
French cuisine is divine.
Especially when served by Seattleite hipsters.
The whole tattoo & piercing scene really adds to the ambiance.
